Improving support for the well-being of nurses

We are working with a large non-profit health system to better understand the relationship between social support, burnout, and decision-making among nurses. We aim to develop interventions that increase social support and social belonging among nurses in a large health care system. In a randomized experiment, we will then test whether an increased sense of social belonging has an effect on the self-reported level of burnout, and whether lower levels of burnout would causally improve decision-making and performance.
