Assessing factors that affect physicians’ well-being

In partnership with researchers at Stanford University, we are analyzing how positive and negative social interactions affect the emotional well-being of female physicians. This project focuses on three dimensions of social interaction: (1) understanding the role of online communities, such as the Physician Moms Group, in providing social support and fostering social belonging; (2) exploring the relationship between experiences with sexual harassment and burnout; and (3) evaluating the effect of increasing social support and belonging on burnout, emotional well-being, and job performance.
